Whitney Laughlin

Whitney Laughlin is an award-winning university counselor with over 30 years of experience. In addition to working in Harvard’s admissions office, she has been Director of College/University Counselling at St. Michaels University School, Albuquerque Academy, Native American Prep School, and Verde Valley School.
Dr. Laughlin also founded and ran a non-profit helping Native American students prepare for and apply to college. In 2005, she received the National Association for College Admission Counseling’s Human Relations Award, for being “instrumental in making postsecondary educational opportunities available to historically underrepresented students.” In 2009, she was recognized as a “Counselor That Changes Lives” (from Colleges That Change Lives). In 2011, she received PNACAC’s Sister Shawn Marie Barry Distinguished Service to Youth Award, given to an admissions professional who has “devoted outstanding and faithful service to youth.” She has been a member of IECA, PNACAC, the Overseas Association for College Admission Counseling, and NACAC.
